Why is a sex toy party more than just a sex toy party?

I was reading a discussion the other day on a forum about “who has been to one of those parties?” and the variety of responses surprised me. Some would “rather sit at home and watch the grass grow” whilst some thought “it was THE BEST fun ever. Just a crack up. I loved it.” One lady found the whole idea “tacky and hideous” aside from the fact that she has clearly never been to an April Nites party, it got me thinking about just why a women I think women should embrace the whole 'sex toy party' notion.
